 This week we learned about fashion terminology, which included sewing, collars, sleeves, dresses and even finishings. During class, we were tasked to pick out 3 items and describe them with the terms we learned. Below is the exercise: 1) - Cotton - Straight cut - Mustard colour - Rolled up ends - Pockets - Double needle top stitch - Single needle top stitch 2) - 74% Cotton, 26% Polyester - Black heather - Printed graphics - Crew neck - Plain sleeves  - Single needle top stitch on the collar - Coverstitch on the inside 3) - Bleached denim - Double-needle top stitch - Coverstitch inside - Pockets - Cuffed ends - Embroidery

This week, we learned about fashion seasons we were instructed to study the fashion trend of either Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter 2022 collections. Our lecturer created one to demonstrate to us how to make one using Photoshop. In the end, I used Google Slides to do my tasks as it was more user friendly. Above is the trends I have gathered after watching many runways for Spring/Summer 2022.

Lecture: This week, we learned about design proportion in fashion, which includes proportion and disproportion. Proportion in fashion design refers to the size relationship of each element in the outfit and the whole design, and is also how lines and shapes divide the outfit into sections. Designers use proportion to ensure the outfit is done according to the proportion of the body figure. This is because everyone has a different body shape. Disproportion, however, makes an outfit more unique when divided into uneven or unequal parts. Our lecturer then proceeds to show us different examples of proportional and disproportional garments according to line, shape/silhouette, texture, and colour.  Tutorial:  For our tutorial, we did exercise 2, which is drawing a fashion figure using the 9-head figure theory.
